THE PREQUEL TO Game of Thrones has been a long time coming for those who were disappointed in the initial series finale, which wrapped back in summer 2019.
Matt Smith recently told Rolling Stone about his complicated character Daemon – a warrior who is a master of dragon flight: "He's sort of an outsider. He's not black and white, there are shades of grey with him, which is what interested me about him. And his relationship with his brother is really interesting.
"My dragon's called Caraxes," revealed Smith. "He's a bit of an avatar of Daemon — he's grumpy, sardonic, insular, volatile, chaotic."
When asked if Daemon Targaryen experiences any of the steamy sex scenes, Smith assured fans with a laugh, adding: "Yeah – slightly too much, if you ask me."
House of the Dragon will premiere on Sunday, August 21 in the US on HBO at 9pm ET, and on Monday, August 22 on Sky Atlantic at 2am in the UK, where it will also stream on NOW.
